ArticlCity Pages "Best of 2008" Voting Now Opene Headline

City Page Voting logoThere's a lot of great businesses, people and  - well - just interesting stuff in our neighborhods.  It's time to show some of it off in the voting for the City Pages "Best of the Twin Cities 2008" voting.

We hope you'll visit the City Pages voting site, and enter in your favorites from our neighborhood.  You don't have to vote in every category, but even putting in your favorite restaurant, bakery, or park can help raise the profile of our neighborhoods.  It takes just a few minutes, and could really help.  Thanks!

ArticlHistoric Church in Need of Preservation Worke Headline

Greater Frogtown logoThis historic church formerly housed the Saint Matthews congregation and, most recently, the Rock of Ages church.  The building, located at 507 Dale Street near University Avenue, is now closed and cannot be reused without substantial repair.  At this time, there are no specific funds available to stabilize the building while a plan for preservation is put in place.  This is why we need your help.

The Greater Frogtown CDC, in partnership with other area nonprofits, is hoping to save this building.  As we approach potential funding partners and develop ideas to reuse the building, we are asking friends and neighbors to share their stories about the past as well as their ideas for the future.  Please let us know your thoughts by emailing info@greaterfrogtowncdc.org, and learn more by visiting our web site at GreaterFrogtownCDC.org/507Dale.

Article Invest Saint Paul Doorknock Volunteers Neededeadline

Greater Frogtown is working with many partners on the Invest Saint Paul initiative.  Invest Saint Paul is a program created by Mayor Chris Coleman to target partnerships and investment in key neighborhoods, including parts of Frogtown.  In order to do the best possible job of using some targeted money to help our neighborhood, we need to talk to as many neighbors in the selected area as possible.

Greater Frogtown CDC has scheduled two different door knock opportunities to ask residents about their experiences and needs.  We'll be out when the weather should be warmer, on Saturday April 5 from 1:00 to 3:30 PM and Monday, April 7 from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM.  Each door knock will start at the Greater Frogtown offices at 533 Dale Street N.  We're asking for volunteers to help in this important work.  Volunteers will be paired with a staff or Board of Directors member from Greater Frogtown.  If you are available to help, please contact Steve Boland at 651-789-7486 or email info@greaterfrogtowncdc.org.
