ArticlFacelift Grants Available for Home Improvemente Headline

Greater Frogtown has managed the Frogtown Facelift home improvement program for years now, which have required only 1/3 of the loan to be repaid over time, with 1/3 forgiven over five years and 1/3 due on sale.  Well, we are now working on a short-term project to grant some facelift loans that would not include any immediate repayment - just due on sale and forgiven over time amounts.

These should be available in the next month, and we hope to get more residents signing up for home improvement work with this extra bonus.  In the interim, we still have our other grants and loans available, and this is a great time to plan projects for construction work in the spring!

Article New blog for Greater Frogtown CDCHeadline

Greater Frogtown is excited to be expanding how we communicate with our neighbors.  Our first, postal-mailed newsletter was sent to each household in our area, in partnership with the District 7 Planning Council, last December.  This email newsletter will be sent once a month to interested neighbors, but often there are updates on ideas, projects and issues that come up between monthly newsletters.

Our blog will be a place where people who want more frequent communication can subscribe or visit to learn more about the work of the CDC.  Please drop by GFCDC.blogspot.com to read the first couple of installments, to learn more, or to subscribe.

Meetings on Commuity Safety, Business Involvement
Bill Sands, Chairman Emeritus of Western-Bank, has been bringing people together on University Avenue for a lot of years.  Recently, he has convened meetings with Police Chief John Harrington and area business owners to discuss safety issues and how businesses can help.

Another meeting is being scheduled, this one involving police training for workers of  University Avenue Businesses to know when and how to be involved in assisting people who need help or contacting the police before more serious trouble starts.  Contact GFCDC for more information or if you would like to be involved.
