Question from a Reader: "Is there a 'need' for liver detoxification, and, if so, considering all the other organs, what priority do I assign to my liver?"
Answer: Your body was designed and created to protect itself from harmful organisms and to empty trash left over from natural biochemical reactions and other metabolic activities.
It was designed to protect and detoxify as follows:
1. Break down the toxin to make it less poisonous and to avoid damaging an exit pathway as it attempts to leave the body.
2. Send it through the body unchanged, even though there is a potential to harm.
3. If the first two fail, it will store the poison in the cellular structure of the body indefinitely. This is the first step in root cause for future disease and illness.
Improper nutrition in the diet will affect those three choices and cause toxins, mucous and other harmful debris to accumulate creating problems with proper organ, system and cellular function, resulting in symptoms such as:
- Indigestion - bloating, gas, constipation, diarrhea, belching
- Weight gain
- Low energy and vitality
- Lack of focus and concentration
- Sleeplessness
- Joint pain
- Depression, Anxiety
- Headaches
Many over-the-counter cleanses are simply glorified laxative products. While it is important to have 2-3 bowel movements daily, a "cleanse" should be so much more than a laxative. Professionally speaking, the cleanse or detoxification process should include nutrients that are intended to upregulate, improve the working function of, all organs and systems of the body.
The process is shared by every organ and system of the body. The colon, liver, heart, lymph, kidneys, lungs, skin, and the immune system each have a different role in clearing the body of harmful debris and waste. The detoxification process should be accomplished in stages over a period of time.
The first order of priority is to make sure the exit pathways, including the lymphatic system, are functioning well using specialized cleanses for those processes. Of secondary focus, make sure the major organs of detoxification, the kidneys and liver, are being supported to function as designed. Depending on the health of the individual, a liver and gallbladder flush should be included at some point.
A word of caution: Always get the advice of a qualified health care professional when attempting a detoxification program. Many individuals are much too fragile to undertake a cleanse process without first rebuilding their health. A word of advice: Don't bother with a cleanse if you're not also going to clean up your diet... you're wasting your time and money.

"Therefore we do not lose heart, but though our outer man is decaying, yet our inner man is being renewed day by day." From the 2nd Book of Corinthians, Chapter 4, Verse 16.
You can do nothing to change the day and time that God has assigned for your earthly body to pass away, but you can be continually renewed, refreshed, and certainly healed by His holy words.
