4 No-Brainer Reasons To Never Use Splenda
An article on www.globenewswire.com recently stated: "James Turner, the chairman of the national consumer education group Citizens for Health, has expressed shock and outrage after reading a new report from scientists outlining the dangers of the artificial sweetener Splenda (sucralose)."
In a recent animal study conducted at Duke University Medical Center, researchers found that Splenda: - Reduced the amount of good bacteria in the intestines by 50 percent. What does this mean??? Huge immune system compromise as well as fertile terrain for parasites, virus, bacteria and fungus.
- Increased the pH level in the intestines. What does this mean??? Inability of small and large intestine to digest foods properly or to stop growth of harmful micro-organisms.
- Contributed to increases in body weight. No explanation necessary here!
- Affected P-glycoprotein (P-gp) levels in such a way that crucial health related drugs could be rejected. What does this mean??? Could result in medications used in chemotherapy, AIDS treatment and treatments for heart conditions being shunted back into the intestines, rather than being absorbed by the body.
Opt for other natural sweeteners such as Stevia and Xylitol. Both of these natural sweeteners have very low glycemic index levels. Depending on your health issues, you could also choose Grade B Maple Syrup, local raw honey, rice syrup, or molasses.
Isaiah, one of the Old Testament Biblical prophets warned: "Woe to those who call evil good, and good evil; who substitute darkness for light and light for darkness; who substitute bitter for sweet, and sweet for bitter." (See Isaiah chapter 5, verse 20)
In light of this scripture, I would call Splenda (sucralose) "bitter"... it serves no healing purpose! |
