The Test You Should Take for Early Warning for Gout of Other Circulatory Disorders. The 3rd in a Series of Cardiovascular Risk Indicators
If you missed any of the previous Thursday's Tips, please be sure to go to our website www.nutritionaldirection.com where they are archived.
In my last 3 emails I talked about C-Reactive Protein, Fibrinogen & Homocysteine, all natural metabolites that become elevated when there is a nutrient deficiency or toxicity, thereby making these elevated markers cardiovascular risk indicators.
This week's subject for early warning Gout and other circulatory diseases is:
Uric Acid: This crystalline acid is the end product of protein utilization. It must be excreted through the kidneys because it cannot be metabolized by the body.
Elevated uric acid level is a clinical indicator and early warning sign for an inflammatory or circulatory disorder, such as gout, heart disease and oxidative stress.
Increased uric acid levels are associated with gout. Low uric acid levels indicate poor utilization of protein such as that associated with MS (multiple sclerosis). When inflammation is present caused by high uric acid levels, the body wants to start laying down protective tissue resulting in such illness as bone spurs, atherosclerosis, fibrosis, etc.
Nutritional Direction now has the opportunity to provide our patients with blood chemistry panels through Quest Labs at a fraction of the laboratory list price.
If your physician won't do the test and/or it's not covered by your insurance because you don't have symptoms of a disease process, then contact Nutritional Direction at 817-283-4424.
The Laboratory list price for Uric Acid is $22.90. Your cost from Nutritional Direction is $12.00! You will not find a better price on blood work that will help you be proactive about your health.
