| From the StillPointe Staff | May 1, 2011 |
Dear Patients and Friends:
We certainly had the April showers so I'm looking forward to the promise of May flowers. I know many of you are anxious to get out into the garden and spring activities. Make sure you include an adjustment and massage on your "to-do" list. Doing things that your body isn't used to, such as bending to work in the garden or twisting your back to rake, may cause injuries. Regular adjustments keep your body balanced and ready for spring and summer sports and activities.
THANK YOU for all the great Earth Day suggestions on Facebook. We are proud of you for making such a difference in the environment. We have had three weekly massage winners so far. Some of the tips they suggested are listed below. I certainly saw many things I hadn't thought about before.
May also brings Mother's Day. We have a great Mother's Day gift package for your mom or someone special. We are throwing in a FREE upgrade and special packaging. You can see the details below. We are also doing a class on the hCG diet plan. See the article below for details, but I can attest that it really works!
Finally I want to share a great story from one of our "StillPointe Kids." Lillian is five years old and has been in with ear infections. Her mom said that as they were driving past our office one morning, Lillian told her sister, "There's the ear factory. Dr. Saetre took my old earache and gave me a new ear that doesn't hurt!" Our patients say it best and we have other testimonials listed in the column to the left. We would love to hear your stories, too. Thanks Lillian, you made my day.
We look forward to your next visit. We truly appreciate the opportunity to serve you and your family, and want your experience at StillPointe to be exceptional. We look forward to your next visit and have a great May!
Yours in Health,
Dr. Susan Saetre and the StillPointe Staff Dr. Jen Bestick, Chiropractor

hCG Diet Using Homeopathics.
Class scheduled for Tuesday, May 10, 6:30 p.m.
Many of you have requested information on using hCG for weight loss. I have been researching this for about two years. I finally tried it myself in April, along with Sheri Young, our massage therapist. We have been pleased with the results, each losing 12-15 pounds during the first phase of 26 days.
What is hCG?
It is a hormone produced in large quantities during pregnancy to ensure proper nutrients to a developing baby. hCG triggers the hypothalamus to mobilize stored fat into the bloodstream to be used as "food." It is believed to reset your metabolism, protect your body's good fat and keep muscle tissue from breaking down which is the most important thing in weight loss. Many low-calorie programs cause muscle loss, resulting in health problems.
How does hCG work?
hCG is taken orally, under the tongue to be rapidly absorbed, allowing a person to use stored fat (the brown fat that is the unhealthy kind). hCG triggers the body to provide a constant flow of "food" received from the fat that your body is breaking down and using. One pound of body fat stores upwards of 2000 calories. Once the fat is made fluid, nutrition can be released to the bloodstream, reducing hunger and flushing waste from the system. This, combined with a strict diet, allows women to lose about one-half to one pound per day. Men lose one pound per day. hCG decreases your appetite so it is easy to follow.
Is it safe?
Yes, for most people it is very safe when used properly and under supervision. hCG is not a sex-hormone and its action is identical in men and women. Our protocol is based on over 50 years of research. The original was developed by Dr. Simeon in the 1950's in Italy and has been used ever since. Our protocol uses the homeopathic version that is easier and less invasive than the injected hCG. The homeopathic is also very cost-effective and we will work with you during the process to make sure you have support and receive optimal results.
We are offering a class on Tuesday, May 10 to go over the program and answer questions. We are very limited in space, with only 10 slots available. The cost is $10.00 to reserve your seat. Please call Julie at 320-203-8266 to make your reservation. |

Thank you - Our Earth is in Good Hands!
Last month, we honored Earth Day with an event on Facebook - Make a Change and Make a Difference. We asked people to send in their ideas and commitments to protect our Earth's environment and resources. Each week we rewarded participants with a chance to win a massage. We got such great ideas that we wanted to share them with you. And we wanted to thank you for participating. Here is an abbreviated list of the commitments being made:
- When our family goes for a walk, we always take two bags with us to pick up trash. One is for recycle items and the other is for non-recycle items. The kids think it is a "treasure hunt."
- We converted our lights to CFL and are teaching the kids to turn lights off as they leave a room to save energy and money.
- To save paper and trees, I print double-sided and try to go digital vs. paper as much as I can.
- Our business recycles packaging materials, giving them to other businesses who can use the packing/shipping materials.
- For martial arts, we use re-breakable boards vs. pine wood boards that can be used only once - saving trees and less waste.
- I e-mail announcements vs. printed newsletters to save paper and reduce waste.
- We use chemical-free cleaners.
- I walk to nearby places rather than drive, reduces emissions plus I get some extra exercise.
- Cloth diapering - it really is easy once you get used to it and saves lots of money along with reducing landfill issues.
- Recycle, compost, garden for food (less packaging), energy-wise appliances.
- Buy fresh produce, un-packaged foods for less waste; and I use reusable bags for shopping.
- For 3 years, have not printed "draft" paper. File digital vs. paper copies, saving trees, inks, etc. Storage space required has been reduced plus an added benefit of no paper cuts!!!
- I only use mugs and bottles that I can reuse.
- Buy organic veggies for health and reduced chemical use. Save all the scraps and make my own vegetable stock.
- We are planting trees this spring.
- Unplugging electronics, eliminating phantom loads and reducing energy use.
- Put up new thermal-backed curtains, installed earth-friendly laminate floors, removed plasma TV, no chemical lawn treatments.
- Using a composter for vegetable garden and sharing with neighbors.
- For school lunches, I don't use baggies or plastic utensils to reduce waste.
- The whole family speeds up their showers to conserve water and energy.
- I bike more, including to work to reduce emissions and gas use.
- We carpool to minimize gas use.
- I am buying a rain barrel to use for watering my garden to minimize wasting water resources.
- I use glass containers rather than baggies and wraps. Plus I use pretty scarves to wrap gifts rather than using paper. Makes a nice added gift while saving on waste and tree use.
OUR EARTH IS IN GOOD HANDS.
Adopt some of the ideas above and we will all make a difference.
Thanks again for participating in our Earth Day event. |
