CATCH THE SPIRIT OF HOLIDAY GIVING
Dear Dawg Squad Friends,
The dogs in the Squad have a lot to be thankful for this year. We all have nice comfy beds, 2 square meals a day, people who take care of us, and excellent medical care.
But there are a lot of dogs and humans out there that don't have it this good. So we decided at one of our Canine Councils to share our good fortune with those who are in need. And to do this, we need your help.
We are going to choose a low income family to help have a GRRRReat holiday season. This family will, of course, have a dog. And we would like to bestow on them all the things that we have - food and toys and household items (towels, toilet paper, toothpaste) and things like that.
Would you help us?
From now until December 5th, Dawg Squad will accept donations of canned food (human and dog), kid and dog toys, everyday necessities to run a household, frontline for the dog, etc. at our Saturday adoptions. Just come by and drop off whatever you can to help make a family's holiday a little brighter and easier.
Every little bit will help.
Thank you! From Bernie and all the Dawgs in the Squad

4 PAWS UP FOR OVER THE HEDGE
So Mom FINALLY picked out a good movie. This one was called Over The Hedge and it was just one of the best movie cartoons ever.
See, there is this bunch of animals that are really hungry and the humans have used up all their space with houses and roads and the animals don't have anyplace to get food anymore.
This raccoon named RJ decides that they should take food from the humans since humans NEVER eat all the food they have and lots goes to waste. RJ is a very smart raccoon but my favorite guy in this pack is a squirrel named Hammy.
I think Hammy drinks lotsa energy drinks because he talks faster than anyone I know. Well the animals are doing OK until these mean people named Dwayne and Gladys decide they all have to be exterminated and well...things get ugly for awhile except you know in the end the animals are smarter than the humans and HAPPY ENDING.
Mom said that most of the animals reminded her of people she knows. That sounds very weird to me but Mom thinks she and I are a lot alike. Imagine that! (wink, wink). I give this movie four paws up and a butt wiggle! Peace out, Shalom P.S. I'm going on vacation for TWO months so my friend Simon is going to watch movies and keep you all informed. See you next year!

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH
Dawg Squad is made up of all types of volunteers. Some of them are more behind the scenes than others.
Patti has been with us for over six years...quietly coming to adoptions and walking dogs, breaking down our tents and crates and taking laundry home to clean for the pups. And whenever we need a special transport, she is there for us.
Patti has also rescued many dogs off the streets of Los Angeles and cared for them until their forever homes were found. Without volunteers like Patti, it would be hard to run The Squad.
Thank you Patti - we probably don't say that often enough.
