Aloha Lanakila Pacific Volunteers!
How is everyone doing? January came and went so quick! Hope everyone is staying on top of their resolutions...we are!
Lanakila TLC Lanai Sale
One of our resolutions was to clear out clutter in our work spaces to make way for new projects in 2012. While doing so, we came across a wealth of new and gently used treasures and hosted a Lanai Sale.
TLC instructors helped community members and co-workers sort through the goods and raised money toward their upcoming trip to the Big Island! We'll be hosting more lanai sales in the coming weeks. Please stay in touch via Twitter or Facebook for daily updates on the everyday happenings at Lanakila Pacific.
Lanakila Farm
We're going green-er! Lanakila Pacific aims high when it comes to nurturing the environment which is why our new partnership with 'Nalo Farms is something to celebrate!
TLC participants recently went on a field trip to Dean Okimoto's farm in Waimanalo.
The 'Nalo Farms crew showed us around and helped us better understand their mission of providing fresh island produce throughout the state of Hawaii.
TLC participants are excited to get started! Here's Ed Okimoto, Lanakila Pacific Ground Maintenance Manager, clearing brush from our work area at 'Nalo Farms. Plan for a ground-breaking ceremony are scheduled for later this month.

Lanakila Pacific DO GOODers
Volunteer ohana, please meet Ed Hayashi. (Wearing gray shirt in picture below)

Ed has volunteered for Lanakila Meals on Wheels for 20 years! He and his friend, Mits (wearing hat in picture above), come to Lanakila Pacific Monday through Friday at 6am to package bread. These two gentlemen are DO GOODers at the core and inspire us to put our manini troubles aside and help others.
We'd also like to recognize Lanakila Meals on Wheels Adopt-a-Route volunteer group, Omega Psi Phi (OPP).
OPP is an international fraternity of men dedicated to community service, and character and leadership development. OPP's Hawaii Chapter volunteers delivering meals to homebound seniors in Kalihi every third Saturday of the month.
Thank you for your dedication and service, OPP! See you next week!

Say What?!

We want to hear from you - what you like, don't like and would like to see from the Lanakila Pacific DO GOOD Volunteer Program. Volunteer surveys will be distributed starting Monday, February 13. Look forward to hearing your thoughts!
Mahalo for Reading!
And of course, mahalo for volunteering. Thank you for taking a stand for seniors and adults with disabilities with Lanakila Pacific. Thank you for being the change you want to see in this world.
