Greetings!,

As a valued supporter of Xpress Chefs, we are excited to share our special news with you.  Effective July 15, 2010, our name and logo changed from Xpress Chefs to Lanakila Kitchen, a social enterprise of Lanakila Pacific. All proceeds will continue to support Lanakila Meals on Wheels and more!

As you can imagine, this was not an easy decision to make. Over the last five years, we have worked with hundreds of individuals and organizations who have come to know and trust the Xpress Chefs name. Over that time, we've also become attached to the name ourselves.

So why change our name?
We're growing!

KayPut simply, we wanted
a
name that better reflects
who we are now and the
work we do today.

Thanks to your support
over the years, we've expanded tremendously
and continue to grow to meet the community's evolving needs.  Today, Lanakila Kitchen provides:
  • Healthy breakfast and lunch programs for schools and care centers;
  • Catering for business meetings, events and parties;
  • Food packaging and wholesale food services for retail partners;
  • And we will soon offer farm to table and farm to school services with the start of Lanakila Pacific's own Victory Gardens and Hydroponics Farm later this year.
After careful consideration,the name and new look for Lanakila Kitchen was selected to better express our vision to build a sustainable, healthy, and local food system for our community.

It also reflects our commitment to cultivating more nutrition education programs for keiki, with the Let's Move with Michelle Obama and Healthy Schools Campaigns sprouting up across the nation.

Lanakila Kitchen is now official and we will transition to the new name over time. During this period of migration, you may see both names as we continue to use existing supplies with the name Xpress Chefs to maximize resources. The Xpress Chefs name remains registered as well so contracts may be updated at renewal.

Please drop us a line to let us know what you think or visit us at www.lanakilakitchen.org to see what's new.  Soon, we will introduce our new menus and more program developments.

Mahalo again your support!  We look forward to continue working together with you in building independence for challenged lives.

With aloha,

Marian E. Tsuji                      Terry Leong
President & CEO                  Director of Lanakila Kitchen
