Where Were You August 26, 1970?

Dear Sisters,

We're reaching out again to all who have not responded to our email asking for your memories of the 1970 Strike for Equality to be featured in our soon-to-be released Equality, I Am Woman. The book will include memories from many who participated in that August 26 march in New York, as well as from women who demonstrated anywhere else in the United States or around the world.

And in addition to your memories of that earthshaking event, we'd appreciate something we can feature as a quote, be it a simple sentence or whatever you write sharing the vital message of Equality so the book will be valuable to our daughters and granddaughters--and yes, to our sons and grandsons also.

Here is a beautiful quotation from artist Juliette Gordon:

"The rising of the Woman is the rising of the human race."

We already have received many letters, but if you have not yet contributed and would like to be included in our collection of memories of that August 26, please hurry and send your thoughts to [email protected]. Don't worry about the spelling or grammar, we will edit all.

Equality, I Am Woman will be translated into several languages and serve as a fundraiser for VFA. So share your thoughts and feelings about the importance of Equality for Women, yesterday, today and forever and help us make it the best that we can!

Thanks, and Happy Holidays!

Jacqui
