Linda Stein, a member of VFA's board for the past few years, helped organize VFA's spectacular SALUTE TO FEMINIST ARTISTS which took place at the National Arts Club in New York City in 2003. She is the founder/president of HAVE ART: WILL TRAVEL, a non profit organization --- (www.haveartwilltravel.org).

Her focus is to inspire constructive and empowering male/female gender roles leading to Parity/Protection/Peace. She is Art Editor of the magazine, On The Issues where her articles highlight these issues in the art world and beyond.

In 2005, with other board members, Carole de Saram and Grace Welch, she was interviewed by the comedian Sacha Baron Cohen in her gallery studio. Prepared for a serious interview by the then comparatively unknown Baron Cohen, the women were shocked by Borat's absurd comments of women. Linda tangled with him for a while, before kicking him out of her studio. The interview, a classic, was included in Borat's movie, Borat: Cultural Learnings of America for Make Benefit Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (pictured right: Sacha Baron Cohen and Linda Stein.)

Linda has had many solo exhibitions... Her 3-year solo traveling exhibition, The Fluidity of Gender: Sculpture by Linda Stein, with accompanying Body-Swapping performance, catalog and lecture, will travel to universities and museums around the country through 2013.

Her exhibition, The Power to Protect: Sculpture of Linda Stein traveled from the Nathan D. Rosen Museum in Boca Raton, Florida, to the Flomenhaft Gallery in Chelsea, Manhattan, SOFA in Chicago, Rutgers University in New Brunswick, New Jersey, and Longstreth Goldberg Art in Naples, Florida, and is booked in major museums around the western world for the next three years. She's appeared on Nightline, AirCanada (CTV), The London Times, The New York Post, The Guardian, CNN, BBC and Rolling Stone and continues to speak out against bigotry and all forms of global and individual oppression.
