About Juliette
In 1969 Juliette with other women artists formed WAR, Women Artists in Revolution, and conducted their own war against the male dominated art world.
Juliette has had many one-woman shows and had her own gallery on East 73rd Street in New York. She exhibited at the biannual print exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum in 1971 and took part in many exhibits on the East Coast.
In 2002 she almost lost her life in a fire in her loft. Her 21 year old son pulled her out of the burning building just in time. After months of recuperation she was left unable to care for herself, and has lived in an assisted living home since.
Sam Weinreb, her partner and father of her son, an artist himself, visits her often. Through Sam, Juliette sends her love to all of us. She says it is important to remember the pioneer feminists who are responsible for so many positive changes for women (and men!) and she wants to help keep it going. So she's given us one of her art works to auction .
