Veteran Feminists of America

From Jacqui Ceballos - Founder/President
October 2010

Dear VFA Members and Friends,

More good news from VFA! We're sending it with a plea for a donation. In this year of the Great Recession we still have to depend on you to keep us keeping on! AND again and again, thanks for helping us in the past.

Great news is that we have new ways of making money - while publicizing the work and history of veteran feminists. Listen to this - A film was found of the August 26, 1970 march in New York City - the time when over 50,000 came from all over to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the 19th Amendment. It was discovered by Jeanne McGill, a publicist, while working with Dr. Al Sutton, who took the film.

LibertyCoffeeWith VFA's help Jeanne and Dr. Sutton have expanded the movie, adding photos, some taken by famed photographer, Bettye Lane; and included memories of many who took part in the march, with a special message from Gloria Steinem, who emceed the rally after the march. In the background Helen Reddy is singing "I Am Woman."

There is more! Jeanne and Jan Cleary, our web manager, have arranged two "stores" of VFA items on the internet. They've designed T shirts, cups, and other items to sell. The stores will produce and sell the products, giving us a nice percentage.

There's more news, but you'll get it in e-mailings we send frequently.

We're thanking you again for keeping VFA going and looking forward to whatever you can send us today.

In sisterhood forever,

Jacqui
