Veteran Feminists of America
July 2010

Dear Feminist Friend,

Because of your help, VFA has accomplished almost everything we set out to do. But we're not retiring, we're rebooting! So we're asking you once again to give generously to help keep VFA going.

generationsWhy all the excitement? Young women, from ages twenty on want to join us -- and everyone wants VFA to continue to support and serve veteran feminists as long as there is a movement!

At our last board meeting in Dallas, March 20 the board voted to include in our Bylaws  that, from now on membership is open to any feminist who wants to be a member, no matter how long they have served! However, only those who have been active for 20 years can be officers or board members of VFA.

The consensus was that, though we've accomplished so much, three goals we have not fully accomplished are "to pass the torch,"  to recruit new activists, and, most important, we still have to have events in many states and honor many more of the great women who made our revolution.

Now that we've honored thousands of pioneer feminists at 34 events around the country, and now that Feminists Who Changed America is published, and now that our files are archived at Duke University, we can spend more time mentoring and learning from our daughters, granddaughters and friends. And also, from our sons and grandsons and their friends. So from now on we'll be involving younger women in our events .

FWCA BookPlease think of what VFA has done. We've reunited and in many cases re-activated the feminists who built the movement. We've honored, and called public attention to thousands of activists who were being forgotten. We've made a permanent document of all this on our web page, www.vfa.us. And we hope we've made you proud that you are part of this movement.

Again we pledge that in no way will the accomplishments and the heroes of the Second Wave be forgotten - as were  those of almost every feminist movement from the beginning of history!

VFA's expenses are minimal. My apartment serves as our office, and most of us donate our professional services. But the recent recession has devastated VFA's finances this year, and our bank balance is dangerously low. So if you can afford it, please, dear feminist, be as generous as you can this year.

Without your help NOTHING would have happened. So we thank you again and again, for all you did in the past, and all you are doing for the future to make the movement MOVE!

With love and gratitude, for your officers and board,

Jacqui Ceballos -Founder/President

PS......Please remember VFA in your will!

VFA thanks you who have already given a donation this year.
