Greetings!

Denise Lewis Premschak I'll be speaking on The Conscious Activist, March 31.

Have you observed how much the world is coming alive with demands  for Freedom and Choice?  And how affecting Change comes from acting together?  To be the difference we wish to see in our world has inspired many of us to become activists for change and things change when we act Together.

ISSSEEM pioneers actively began to bridge the gap between science and

spirit over 21 years ago.  Because of this, we now openly bring both to ourlives and our livelihoods. How can we advance this even further?

       * How can we create a more conscious and ethical world?

       * How do I find like-minded activists?

       * What can I do right now that will actually make a difference?

       * Is it Money we lack or Coordinated Action?

I'd love for you to join the inquiry and listen to the responses in a teleseminar series that I'll be participating in along with Bruce Lipton, Mark Victor Hansen, Dr. Eric Pearl and Marci Shimoff.  You will also be inspired by Sarah Alexander of the Food and Water Watch, meet the founders of The Bioneers, and hear Jim Turner, one of the original "Nader's Raiders" and founder of "Voice for HOPE -HealersOfPlanetEarth".

The Conscious Activist series will breathe new life into your learning and

peak your passion for a better world and the power of change Together

I'm thrilled to use the technologies of our age in ways that can stir us and benefit the mighty work we're up to!   Speaking of, I'll be attending a unique conference over the weekend -Wisdom 2.0 ( http://www.wisdom2summit.com/) where technology executives and wisdom teachers address living mindfully and wisely while engaging the great technologies of our age in ways that benefit us, our society, and world.

One of my favorite Rumi quotes appears at the end of this eSEEM newsletter; it wraps up this this month of celebrating Love so well.

Volunteer Spotlight

ISSSEEM thrives on the enthusiasm and support of its members and volunteers. We value and appreciate each and everyone who lends a helping hand: Our Board of Directors, Publication Editors, Program Committee, Conference Volunteers and those who assist with projects through out the year. The significant contributions of our volunteer staff are essential for smooth operation and continued success.

Each volunteer has their own story to tell. This month I would like to introduce you to Maryann Swartz, our Conference Bookstore Coordinator.

Maryann SwartzIn early 2008, a friend of mine who knows how much I love books, subtle energy work and volunteering suggested that I might enjoy volunteering for the upcoming ISSSEEM conference.  I was thrilled for the opportunity and said yes before I had any idea of the scope of the project.  It's a good thing I didn't know beforehand!  I've never worked so hard, but then I've never had so much fun being on a team and planning an event.  During the days of the conference I hit the ground running at dawn, and fall into bed at midnight (if I'm lucky), with a smile on my face. Organizing all aspects of the annual conference bookstore - ordering books, scheduling volunteers to staff the store, arranging book signings, setting up and working at the store during the conference, and packing up when it's over.  The conference is one of my highlights of each year.  This year will be my fourth time as the bookstore coordinator.

Meeting and getting to know the great people - the staff, the volunteers, the attendees, and the presenters are what I enjoy most about volunteering for ISSSEEM.  The atmosphere at the conference is the warmest and friendliest group of people I am around all year!  One of my favorite memories is when Melinda Connor worked with me one-on-one, and I was able to actually see a flash of my aura.  Another is when I was sitting in a chair catching my breath and an attendee I hadn't previously met offered me an impromptu foot massage.  Where else does that happen?!

I'm creative and curious, a mother of teenagers, a wife, and a cat & book lover.  My personal values: close relationships, meaningful work, always learning, and to never believe everything I think! (aka staying open-minded)

Sustainable Wellness 101- Growing In

By Cristina Smith

The man who has no inner life is the slave of his surroundings. -Henri Frederic Amiel

How many times have people asked you what you want to be when you grow up? The questioning usually starts when you are under 10 and continues, sometimes for decades, until you have established an 'acceptable' career or place in society.

There is a feeling of finality to being grown up. Like once we are all grown up, that's it. You've found your place in the world and you can stop growing now because you've made it (whatever that means).  Our culture these days is evolving as we live longer and many of us choose to continue to grow after we retire from our grown up careers. I was talking with a friend the other day who had just retired from her very grown up executive position so she could volunteer in a global humanitarian organization and spend more time studying yoga and meditation. She said that she still didn't know what she wanted to be when she grew up, but it sounded to me like she was ready to focus on growing in, rather than up.

'Growing in' is a journey into the mystical aspects of ourselves. It is an exploration of our inner resources, a cultivation of our personal connection with the Divine, and a quiet gathering of self-knowledge. Growing in doesn't seem to have the same value in western culture as growing up. I am not sure why, because the riches cultivated from the inner journey are priceless beyond measure. Maybe it is because the rewards are not overtly quantifiable. It seems to me that time spent growing in is the perfect balance to time invested into growing up.

The happiest people I know are those that are grown up enough to have their material world going well- enough worldly resources to live comfortably and are driven to keep growing. Some of them have taken up the quest of growing in with the same vigor as growing up. They are learning some of the secrets of the Universe and how to apply them to their established grown up worlds with remarkable results.

Even if you are in a phase of life right now that is all about being grown up, it doesn't mean you can't begin to grow in. There are simple practices, like reading an inspirational quote daily, which can open the door. Conversely, if you have been mostly focused on growing in and stopped growing up awhile ago, consider re-engaging the world by offer the gifts you have found inside. Volunteer somewhere and share the essence of your inner beauty as a living example to others. That will help you grow up to new heights, which will then assist you in going deeper. It is through this beautiful dance of offering and receiving that we enhance our soul's evolutionary journey.

sacred promise

The Sacred Promise:

How Science Is Discovering Spirit's Collaboration with Us in Our Daily Lives

by Gary E. Schwartz, PhD.

"If there is a greater spiritual reality, and if it can actually assist us in our individual and collective lives, than the sooner we can receive this assistance, the better it will be for our species and the planet as a whole. If ever there was a time for us to awaken to these profound possibilities, this is it." Dr Gary Schwartz

Sacred Promise brings us into the laboratory of scientist Dr. Gary Schwartz, where he establishes the existence of Spirit by its own Willful Intent-a proof of concept for deceased spirits. The author takes readers on a personal journey into the world of angels and spirits and reveals their existence and desire to help.

Dr. Schwartz candidly discusses the challenges as well as the rewards of connecting with Spirit. He poses several important questions. What if our feelings of emptiness, loneliness, hopelessness, and meaninglessness are actually fostered by our belief in a "spiritless" Universe? What if our physical hunger is symptomatic of a greater spiritual hunger? What if Spirit is actually all around us, ready to fill us with energy, hope, and direction, if we are ready to ingest it? What if Spirit is like air and water, readily available for us to draw within; that is, if we choose to seek it?

Sacred Promise shows how we can attune ourselves and receive this guidance from Spirit, which is all scientifically documented by Dr. Schwartz experiments and research. Prepare to suspend your beliefs about Spirit.

I thoroughly enjoyed this story filled with a sense of magic and possibilities. It transported me to my own youth
and brought dreams of other times and places. It was like leaving behind an old friend when it ended. Beautifully written book that could change the way you view the difficult relationships in your life.

Cosmic Dancer
Cosmic Dancer
by Lianne Downey

On the surface, Amelia Longwood seems like just another confused 15-year-old in the late 1960s. She's got problems at home, she's not in the "in crowd" at school, and even though her ballet teacher thinks she's brilliant, she doesn't know it. She can't actually remember her past lives, but something about them begins to creep into her present life. She's started having visions of beautiful, higher-dimensional worlds, of her life between lives.

Is she losing her mind? Or just beginning to find it? Will the forces of her own past-life history defeat her? Or will she rise to her full stature, finding true love as she dances her own unique spiral across the firmament?

Very few, if any, novels travel with their characters into a life between physical incarnations on Earth. This one does! If you've ever wondered what you might have been up to before you were born ... that is, if you're an "older soul" who's on a path of learning ... you'll find vivid clues in this book.
