Greetings Friends!

Denise Lewis Premschak

As 2010 draws to a close, I'd like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for your ongoing friendship and generous donations in support of ISSSEEM.  I thank you on behalf of everyone in our community working in myriad ways to advance comprehensive medicine.  I thank you on behalf of the millions of lives that have and will be affected by this mighty work.

Together we are building a world where every person has a sense of connection --to each other as well as to subtle energies that can be used for good-- a world where differences pale in the bright light of our common humanity.

I write this following the reflective AND dynamic lunar eclipse hosted here in the very early morning of the Solstice by a gloriously clear Colorado sky.  In reverent silence, except for the distant howling of coyotes and the hoots of a splendid owl hunting from a tree in our yard, the reddish glow of the eclipsed moon engendered a primal sense of oneness -a powerful and 'user friendly' app it was, for experiencing awe and for impressing intent into the cosmos!

Amid the reflective nature of what is all around us --the glint of tree lights, the luster of snow, the sparkle in the children's eyes-- and the dynamic activity that reigns through the holiday season, we wish you great joy and a new year that invites gifts and unveils arrivals that have been long in preparation.

Though your destination is not yet clear
You can trust the promise of this opening;
Unfurl yourself into the grace of beginning
That is at one with your life's desire.

Awaken your spirit to adventure;
Hold nothing back, learn to find ease in risk;
Soon you will be home in a new rhythm,
For your soul senses the world that awaits you.

excerpt, For a New Beginning, by John O'Donohue

Blesses,

Denise

Karl Maret shared this information about the current Solar Eclipse.

lunar eclipseThis time in December has the most auspicious things occurring, especially with the Lunar Eclipse on the Winter Solstice,  which had not occurred since 1634. You can read the entire treatise written by Barbara Hand Clow   click here

At this time of the year as we celebrate Light returning to the world, the thought that goes through my head is:

"How silently, how silently the wondrous gifts are given, when God imparts to human hearts the blessings of the heavens [universe] .   The morning stars together proclaim this holy birth [of the Light returning to the world]."

I do believe that with all the changes we are going through on this planet as well as in the galaxy and universe, that we do need to be mindfully aware and sensitive to the silent ways in which the wonderous gifts are being given to us that will sustain and carry us through these times of intense change and transformation.   - Member/Conference Presenter, Kelduyn Garland

Campaign to Connect

campaign to connect  We've reached 45% of our Goal.

We need your financial support to make
The Campaign to Connect a success.

We live in an unprecedented time-a time when more and more people are awakening to the growing body of experiential and scientific evidence related to subtle energies and the boundless benefits of energy medicine.

Never has it been more critical to reach out and connect to what brings meaning, purpose, and progress to others - never has it been more important to acknowledge our interconnectedness.

Year after year, ISSSEEM plays a key role in this emerging paradigm.  Annual conferences, publications and the work of members continue to merge the perceived gap between science and spirit.

Phase I of the Campaign is a $25,000 funding initiative aimed at upgrading and expanding the ISSSEEM technology infrastructure to provide relevant programs and services to more people through the Internet and Social Media Networks.

How Quantum Activism Can Save Civilization: A Few People Can Change Human Evolution
by Amit Goswami, PhD

New Release January 1, 2011

Beginning with Taking the Quantum Leap by Fred Alan Wolf, there have been a number of books that have created new paradigms for integrating science and spirituality. These books have been long on theory and short on application. This work represents something completely different for this genre.

In his previous book, God is Not Dead, Goswami proved that not only are science and religion compatible, but that quantum physics proves the existence of God. In this new book, Goswami moves beyond theory into the realm of action. He asserts that quantum thinking is striking the death blow to scientific materialism; that quantum thinking allows us to break from past bad habits and bring us into of free will and possibilities.

Beginning with the question: "God is here, so what are you going to do about it?" Goswami calls for a plan of action that involves applying "quantum thinking" to a variety of societal issues. He issues a call for a spiritual economics that is concerned with our well-being rather than only our material needs; democracy that uses power to serve, instead of dominating others; education that liberates rather than shackles; and new healthy practices that restore wholeness.

Amit Goswami will be presenting at our 2011Conference in June.

Bringing Progress to Paradise: What I got from Giving to a Mountain Village in Nepal
by Jeff Rasley

What does it mean to bring progress-schools, electricity, roads, running water-to paradise? Can our consumer culture and desire to "do good" really be good for a community that has survived contentedly for centuries without us?

In October 2008, climbing expedition leader and attorney, Jeffrey Rasley, led a trek to a village in a remote valley in the Solu region of Nepal named Basa. His group of three adventurers was only the third group of white people ever seen in this village of subsistence farmers. What he found was a people thoroughly unaffected by Western consumer-culture values. They had no running water, electricity, or anything that moves on wheels. Each family lived in a beautiful, hand-chiseled stone house with a flower garden. Beyond what they already had, it seemed all they wanted was education for the children. He helped them finish a school building already in progress, and then they asked for help getting electricity to their village.

Bringing Progress to Paradise describes Rasley's transformation from adventurer to committed philanthropist. We are attracted to the simpler way of life in these communities, and we are changed by our experience of it. They are attracted to us, because we bring economic benefits. Bringing Progress to Paradise offers Rasley's critical reflection on the tangled relationship between tourists and locals in "exotic" locales and the effect of Western values on some of the most remote locations on earth.

Jeff Rasley is a dad and husband living in Indiana, where he practiced law for 30 years. He has been trekking and leading treks to Nepal and the Himalayas for fifteen years. He has been working with the Rai people of Basa, Nepal, to bring "progress" to their village in the most culturally respectful way possible.

A portion of the proceeds from the sale of this book will benefit the people of Basa, Nepal.

caregiversThe Caregiver's Tao Te Ching: Compassionate Caring for Your Loved Ones and Yourself by William and Nancy Martin

New Release January  2011

The present moment is all we have,
so we are not constantly seeking
a faster way to do things
or a better place to be.
(from Chapter 8 of The Tao Te Ching)

Those who care for the ailing, whether helping someone recover, grapple with a long-term disability, or face a terminal illness, often feel alone, overwhelmed, exhausted. William and Nancy Martin have worked as counselors, hospice trainers, and Zen guides - and as caregivers themselves. With empathy and insight, they offer readers solace drawn from the eternal wisdom of the Tao Te Ching.

Like the original Chinese text, this book contains eighty-one chapters. Each chapter includes a poem for caregivers, evocative of the verses of the Tao Te Ching, followed by a reflection that presents practical guidance for navigating the emotional and physical hardships of caregiving. The resulting resource gently awakens readers to the grace, growth, and even joy possible at each step along their path.

The Zen of Personal Finance: Get It Going and Keep It Flowing
by Donald Simon

Donald Simon's new book, The Zen of Personal Finance, How to Get it Going and Keep It Flowing,  delivers a realistic roadmap for making the navigation of personal  economics 'a Zen experience'.  The greatest 'gem' I mined from these pages: "In order for individuals, businesses and non-profits to thrive and leave a wonderful legacy, they must seize the unique opportunity offered NOW --especially in these times of instability-- to  decide what they truly value and dedicate themselves to that."  This is the 'get it going' part.   The 'keep it flowing' part is engaging the practical, immediate, "outside the box" strategies Donald outlines.  Changes are happening at every level of our economy and evolution -- bottom up changes that we are being called to create, implement and flow into our lives and into the world.

Donald will give a workshop at the 2011 conference.  Watch for it!!

From the Author

I hope you are as excited as I am about the huge opportunities that lie ahead of us. I believe that we will see more positive changes in the next 30 years than we have in the past 3,000 years. Change happens organically through groups that meet regularly to collaborate with a truly loving and unified intention. We must always remember that we are being called to create in each moment for the highest and best good of all. Please join me.
