 As we enter a new decade, Brem Foundation is excited about the new opportunities the New Year holds.  Please enjoy this issue of the Foundation's newsletter as we review the successes of 2009 and look forward to 2010.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH 

The Foundation would like to thank all of the hostesses who helped make Brem Brunches so successful in 2009.  With your help, Dr. Brem was able to educate many women about breast health, emphasized the need for early diagnosis, and answer questions about breast cancer.  You are making a difference in women's lives!Calv. BIOPSY FUND UPDATE 

During 2009, Brem Foundation paid over $52,000 for women in the Washington, DC area to receive necessary biopsies and diagnostic procedures.  Without the Where in the world?assistance from Brem Foundation, these women would have had to wait months for this procedure.  Your donations have made a difference in these women's lives.  Thank you!

CFCNCA - Combined Federal Campaign for the National Capital Area
In 2009, the Foundation received over $5,000 in donations through the Combined Federal Campaign for the National Capital Area.  We 2009 CFCNCA logoappreciate the support from the government employees who donated to the Foundation through this program.  The current campaign is ongoing and accepting contributions.  Please remember the Brem Foundation to Defeat Breast Cancer for your future CFCNCA contributions.

ULTRASOUND STUDY FOCUSED ON WOMEN WITH DENSE BREASTS

 Dr. Brem's study to determine if having Automated Breast Ultrasound (ABUS) together with routine screening mammograms is more sensitive to detecting breast cancer in women with dense breast tissue is still ongoing.  If you would like to be  part of this study, please contact Dr. Brem's office at 202-741-3031.  For more information on this study please log onto www.bremfoundation.org.  You and your insurance will be billed for the usual charge of standard mammogram screening.  There is no cost for the ultrasound scan.
