The Economic Development Board approved the list of ranked projects from the FY 2012 Public Works Prioritization Process Recommendations.
The goal of the Public Works Program is to support long-term economic development through investments in public infrastructure and facilities necessary to generate private investments that provide higher-skill, higher-wage jobs. Each year projects are submitted to the EDD for review and the top tier of projects are then submitted to the Economic Development Administration (EDA) for potential funding.
The board ranked the projects as follows:
- City of SeaTac/City of Des Moines - Connecting 28th/24th Avenue South (S 200th Street to S 216th Street)
- City of Tacoma - Puyallup River Bridge Replacement Project
- City of Tacoma - Pacific Avenue/Hood Corridor Streetscape Project
