The Transportation Policy Board recommended approval of a set of policies and procedures to guide distribution of PSRC's federal funds.
PSRC adopts a policy framework to guide the project selection process for PSRC's federal funds with the goal of directing funds to projects that meet the regional priorities outlined in Transportation 2040, VISION 2040, and the Regional Economic Strategy. The estimated funding available for fiscal years 2013 and 2014 is $441.9 million and projects receiving these funds will be selected later this year. The board recommended continuing with existing policies and procedures along with an additional set-aside for preservation and maintenance. The draft 2012 Policy Framework will be presented to the Executive Board at its February 23 meeting. Watch the discussion or view the presentation online at psrc.org.

The Transportation Policy Board initiated the discussion on the 2014 update to Transportation 2040.
Transportation 2040 was adopted in May of 2010 and is scheduled to be updated in the spring of 2014 per federal requirements. This minor plan update will review and evaluate the plan's financial strategy, examine changed conditions since 2010, and incorporate policy direction to implement the prioritization work currently underway.
