The Executive Board provided feedback on the work to develop a method of prioritizing Transportation 2040 projects.

The prioritization proposal offers a new approach for evaluating transportation projects to help inform decision making in the 2014 plan update. Some members of the board suggested that the draft prioritization process be further refined before being released for public comment. The Transportation Policy Board will discuss this input at its December 8 meeting and decide how to proceed. Watch the discussion or view the presentation.

The Executive Board was briefed on the Landscape Conservation and Local Infrastructure Program enacted during the last legislative session.

The program establishes a new voluntary tool to finance infrastructure that is based on a city accepting transferable development rights (TDRs) from farm, forest and some rural lands.  PSRC is tasked with allocating TDRs to eligible cities in the region. The Executive Board is scheduled to act on the regional TDR allocations in January. Watch the discussion or view the presentation.

The Executive Board welcomed Tayloe Washburn for a presentation on the Washington Aerospace Partnership.

The Washington Aerospace Partnership is working to secure the state's future as an aerospace leader. The partnership recently announced the results of its aerospace competiveness study to win Boeing's 737 MAX and 20,000 jobs for Washington. The study recommends enhancements to the state's education system to ensure the aerospace workforce remains competitive into the future. The partnership is advocating that the state Legislature enhance engineering opportunities at the state's universities and strengthen workforce training to sustain and enhance Washington's competitive edge in aerospace.
