Raising Successful World Citizens
Dad and SonWhen we consider the different types of diversity (religion, disability, sexual orientation, income, gender identity, primary language spoken, and others), we see that our kids are growing up in a richly diverse world. It's important we help them embrace and thrive in the midst of diversity. A guiding set of core values is a gift all parents can pass on to their children. Through the stories you tell, the words you say, and the way you live, you shape your children's moral compass. Minnesota Council of Churches

122 Franklin Avenue West

Join the Minnesota Children's Platform Coalition as they highlight the status and needs of Minnesota's children and how organizations and government are working to help all children and youth thrive to become healthy, well-educated and productive adults. The morning will begin with a discussion with members of the Governor's Children's Cabinet-Commissioner of Education, Brenda Cassellius, Deputy Commissioner of Health, Jim Koppel and Assistant Commissioner of Human Services, Erin Sullivan Sutton. At 10:30 a.m. there will be a lively and interactive panel of children's advocates working across the spectrum of children's issues. A networking lunch follows at 12:00 ($10 donation welcomed). Beginning at 1:00, there will be a presentation of a bold new idea for nonprofit advocacy groups. The MNCPC board has been working on a new collaborative model which they call the Building Strong Families Consortium. Please RSVP to mnchildrensplatformcoalition@hotmail.com.
