CHAPTER HIGHLIGHT OF THE MONTH
Mary Weaver, Western Program Coordinator
It can start with just one person. That's what happened in Wadena County when Brad Krotzer wanted to provide parents and other caregivers with a safe place to just talk. And the idea grew and moved rapidly. Once Brad and his wife, Chris, connected with Prevent Child Abuse Minnesota and discovered Circle of ParentsŪ. In less than a month, Brad and Chris were trained in Facilitation Skills and became facilitators of a new parent support group in Menahga. (read more here)

BOOK OF THE MONTH
Alice O. Lynch, Metro Program Coordinator
Black History Month is an annual celebration of achievements by Black Americans and a time for recognizing the central role of African Americans in U.S. history. The event grew out of "Negro History Week," the brainchild of noted historian Carter G. Woodson and other prominent African Americans. Since 1976, every U.S. President has officially designated the month of February as Black History Month. Other countries around the world including Canada and the United Kingdom also devote a month to celebrating black history. (read more here)
