Healthy Children = Healthy Communities and Healthy Economies
This month, communities all over Minnesota are celebrating Child Abuse Prevention Month. We say celebrating because prevention of Child Abuse and Neglect means building a healthy future for all of us -- that's something to celebrate!
When we take positive action to build young minds, we are nurturing tomorrow's leaders, workforce, and citizens. Every interaction literally builds a young child's maturing brain and influences future development. Every interaction with every person, not just the child's parents, is important. And we all benefit.
In this issue, we highlight a few of the things happening during Child Abuse Prevention Month. Visit our website for more resources and information: www.pcamn.org. |

| Promote Prevention in the Workplace: Apply for a Sloan Award |
In Minnesota and across the country, businesses are implementing more flexible workplace standards. Studies are finding that these practices are good for employees, good for business, and good for families. When employees have the flexibility they need to tend to their families' needs, employees are able to focus better on their work and have greater motivation to do well for their employer. AND they are more relaxed at home and able to parent the way they want to. Help promote workplace flexibility by applying and encouraging others to apply for the Alfred P. Sloan Awards for Business Excellence in Workplace Flexibility found here. Deadline to apply is May 1, 2009. |
