announce the formation of a WOMEN'S JOURNAL WRITING GROUP on Wednesdays at 5pm
starting on AUGUST 25TH at the museum.
Join others in learning the process of Journal
Writing based on a weekly theme chosen by the group.
No experience is necessary just a desire to
learn the written reflective skills.

 The 3rd Annual Suffrage Ball takes place on Saturday, August 28th from 6pm to 11pm at the historic LaFayette Hotel, 2223 El Cajon Blvd.
Built in 1946 this hotel is the perfect backdrop for our "Fabulous Forties" dinner and dance and the 40s sounds of the Sue Palmer Orchestra.
Dress up in 40s attire. Eat 40s food and drinks in the atmospheric Mississippi Room with it's famous "clam shell" stage and dance floor. Costume and Dance Contests.

It's Women's Equality Day and we invite you to join in our 4th Annual Suffragist Parade in Balboa Park.
Wear Suffragist clothing...bring your banners and your signs, your sashes and march across the Laurel Street Bridge to the Organ Pavilion for a picnic and a FREE concert.
Meet at 5pm at the Kate Sessions statue on the West end of the Laurel Street Bridge.

And FREE at the La Jolla Playhouse August 21 at 5pm LOVE STRUCK: An evening of art, high fashion and theatre and vintage clothing from the museum collection curated by Anjela Piccard.

Inspired by La Jolla Playhouse's current
production of A Midsummer Night's Dream, LOVE STRUCK is a very fun and amorous
runway fashion & high art experience set in the rolling garden area outside
of LJP's Weiss Theatre.
The evening begins at 5:00 pm with a
music-infused cocktail mixer and art exhibition on the Playhouse's Weiss Lawn,
followed by a vintage apparel showing, featuring the Women's History Museum collection, at 6:00
pm. At 7:15 pm will be a high fashion runway show with a special introduction
from Playhouse Artistic Director and Midsummer director Christopher Ashley.
The
evening caps off with a performance of A Midsummer Night's Dream at 8:00 pm.
Attendees will have the opportunity to purchase discounted tickets to Midsummer
for $40.00.
Admission to LOVE STRUCK is FREE and open
to all-ages. DJ Rob "Hitman" Hartz spins throughout. There will be a
full-service themed bar for 21 & up guests.
Produced by Jon Block Creations, and
curated by Anjela Piccard, this Theater-Fashion-Art experience is the latest JBC
production to merge multiple creative mediums while bringing top San Diego
talent to the forefront.
