Rethink growing older as an experience, as a concept and as a cultural phenomenon. At the Redman Studio we explore, celebrate, and expand individual and collective horizons. Bring materials you enjoy using or choose from the abundance of art media available at the studio. No previous art or writing skills.  We are blooming creatively, sharing perspectives, having fun and growing older together "art-rageously!"

"nudeA Celebration of Life"

Original works on rice paper
 by Dorothy Annette

Opening Reception, Friday,                November 14, 6pm - 9pm
Food, Music, Art

"A Celebration of Life" is the conclusion of eight years of my investigation into being a human being. It is an expression of my experiences of Life since the turn of the century.

Considering my experiences creating my life from both the positive and negative context, this work is an expression of how I have come to view the delusional fog in which I sometimes float.  The body languages of the figures express the attitudes that define experiences of Life. The still life work represents the objects that reside in my studio and home. These objects of which I admit an addiction to making and or collecting are the points of reference that compel me to create and recreate. dorothy
The effects of Life depend on the attitude in which one takes on what is important to them. My miraculous Life and occasional sadness manifest itself in every loving line and splotch on the paper.

Please join me in the celebration.

Although this nation of original inhabitants has been called Southern Diegueño, Diegueño-Kamia, Ipai-Tipai, and Mission Indians, the people prefer to be known as Kumeyaay...".
