Volunteer with us!
Seed Starting Squad member
| | Learn how to start seeds indoors & help us get ready for Spring!
We need your help growing vegetable seedlings in your home for Growing Hope- be a part of the Seed Starting Squad this year and learn the basics about how to start seedlings indoors! Without your help we do not have enough heated indoor space to start the quantity of plants that we need each year to share and distribute in the community and for our education and demonstration farm at the Growing Hope Center. No experience required! Participants not only learn seed starting basics using a lightstand, but will have room to grow 2 flats for themselves. Lightstands may be purchased or are available to borrow. Contact casey@growinghope.net or 786-8401 for more info.
Workshop Days to pick up seed trays and light stands will be held on the following Saturdays- March 5, March 19, and April 5 at 10am and 12pm.

Volunteer with Youth at Ypsilanti Middle School!
Seed 2 Plate engages youth in hands-on gardening and cooking activities to help them take control of their health and the health of their families. To accomplish our goals, we need dedicated volunteers like you!
Volunteers should be excited about teaching 11-13 year-olds about nutrition, healthy cooking, and backyard gardening in a classroom setting. We will be teaching healthy eating habits using simple recipes and garden-based curriculum.
Seed 2 Plate programming will run at Ypsilanti Middle School once a week for approximately 10 weeks, beginning in February and running through the middle of April. Sessions will be on a weekday after school, from around 2:30-4:30pm. We ask that volunteers commit to at least five sessions in order to build great relationships with our youth.
If this sounds like a good fit for you, please email or call Christina at christina@growinghope.net or 734-786-8401. Thanks for your interest!
