Four Square Society Needs Your Help!
|
You may have heard that we're building raised bed gardens with FORTY low and no-income families this spring-- helping people get growing and eating in a healthy, affordable way! Families are so excited that we also have a waiting list and have secured funds to build an additional FORTY this fall!
Our families are all lined up, and very anxious to get their gardens installed. We need your help in doing these installs between now and June 14. We also need your help to become garden mentors and offer advice and support to families through the growing season...

Ann Arbor Farm and Garden 2009 Garden Walk
|
Join the Ann Arbor Woman's Farm and Garden Association for their 19th annual garden walk. The garden walk is a tour of several local, beautiful gardens in Ann Arbor and Ypsilanti. Last year, proceeds from the walk went to Growing Hope, and allowed us to build our hoop house at the Growing Hope Center last fall. This year Growing Hope is one of the gardens on the tour, and will be hosting food and festivities during the Garden Walk. All proceeds from the 2009 Garden Walk will benefit Agrarian Adventure!
Tickets are $12. Stop by and get yours at the Downtown Ypsi Farmers' Market, or e-mail kelly@growinghope.net for more info! |

Free market dollars will be presented to anyone who attends the film screening, and can be used to purchase food at the Farmers' Market! Click here for more info!

| Growing Hope Partner Garden Feature: Ann Arbor Preschool! |
For Earth Day this year, students at Ann Arbor Preschool planted a tree in front of their school. The Ann Arbor Preschool Garden Group is a graduate of CSGDI: Growing Hope's Community and School Garden Development Institute. This year they are container gardening so that they can move the containers to different classrooms to show a variety of plants and share the many flavors that can grow in a small space! If you or any organization you are a part of would like to start a school or community garden but don't know how, CSGDI could be the first step to healthy produce right in your front yard! Call the Growing Hope Office at 734-786-8401 or email ashley@growinghope.net to find out more.
