The event will be hosted by Growing Hope and Slow Food Huron Valley.

Downtown Ypsilanti
Farmers' Market

  Join us every
Tuesday from 2:00-7:00
for the new extended hours at the Downtown Ypsilanti Farmers' Market

The market is located at the corner of Hamilton Ave and Michigan Ave in Downtown Ypsilanti. 

Two weeks ago we had a record 619 visitors!  Come see what keeps our numbers climbing.

Volunteer Opportunities

Get Involved!
Come Volunteer with us at Growing Hope.  We constantly have projects that require volunteer assistance of all kinds, so we are sure to have a project that suits your interests and schedule!  In fact, many of our opportunities can be done on your own time, or on a one time basis!

Below are some of our current volunteer opportunities.  Come help us grow!


Growing Hope Center Workdays
Who: All are welcome, but be prepared for manual labor.
What:  Help us transform the landscape of the Growing Hope Center property and make our new gardens a reality!
When: Weekday Opportunities:
Wednesdays, 1:00pm-4:00pm to landscape
Wednesdays, 4:00pm-6:00pm to garden
Mondays 5:30-7:30pm to garden
Weekend Opportunities:
Three Saturdays (July 26th, August 2nd, August 9th) from 8:30 to 11:30 am
Where:
At the Growing Hope Center, located at 922 W Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti

Hopes Harvest Mailing Team
Who: All are welcome, no special skills needed
What: Starting July 15th, we'll be getting Hope's Harvest invitations ready for mailing, and tickets ready for sale.  Mailing will be prepared in the office.
When: Starting on July 15th.  Most work will take place during regular business hours, but times are flexible, so call if you can help!
Where:  The Growing Hope offices located at 32 N Washington St, in Ypsilanti.

Hopeful Herbs Gardeners

Who:  Master Gardeners are preferred for this position
What:  Help us care for and harvest our herbs for our social enterprise business, Hopeful Herbs
When:  Starting immediately and running through October.
Where: At the Growing Hope Center, located at 922 W Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti

Hoop House Learn and Build

Who: All are welcome!
What: Help us build a hoop house, thanks to funding from the Ann Arbor Branch of the Woman's Farm & Garden Association, and learn from the experts from the Michigan State University Student Organic Farm. 
When: Come to one or all of the following events:
Workdays: 
Friday, August 22 from 1:00pm-5:00pm
Saturday, August 23 from 9:00am-5:00pm
Potluck and Special Presentation from MSU:
Friday, August 22 from 6:00pm-9:00pm
Where: At the Growing Hope Center, located at 922 W Michigan Avenue in Ypsilanti.

Heat Start Seeds of Learning Garden
Who: All are welcome!
What: Head Start's Learning Garden is full of veggies. They need to be kept tended and ready for harvest in the fall.
When: Mondays 10:00am-12:00pm.  Come every week or only once, just contact us beforehand to let us know!
Where:  Head Start Preschool
