The Lace Knitters Club meets here the first Monday of each month from 6:30-8:00.
The next meeting is Monday April 5

The Mid-Michigan Knitting Guild meets the 3rd Tuesday of each month (Sept-May) at 7pm.

In the summer and other Tuesdays they also meet to knit at various members homes.

Greetings!
So much has happened in the last couple of weeks. The snow is all gone, birds are arriving, and I'm looking ahead at a beautiful Spring.
We have a couple of new employees to welcome to Rae's Yarn Boutique. Barbara and Emily have both joined the team and we're very excited to have them. Barbara is extremely knowledgeable and is happy to help you on Tuesdays and some Thursdays. Emily is full of both excitement and knitting skill and will be filling in on Fridays and Saturdays with Melinda. I've been thrilled by their first few days and I hope you all get a chance to meet them as well.
Sadly we are saying goodbye to Sharon and wishing her lots of wonderful trips to visit her grandchildren.
Our other big piece of news is that our new website is up and running. You can now sign-up for classes online as well as purchase a variety of our other products. You even have the option of shopping at home and having items set aside in the shop for you to pick up later.
I hope you all find our new website a big improvement and find information easier to find.

Comfort Bear Project at Schulers!
Lynn and I are hosting a bear knitting night next week at Schulers Books in the East Wood Town Center.
Join us Tue, April 4th at 7pm
The first 50 knitters get kits including pattern, needles, and yarn, to knit Lynn's new bear pattern.
You may wish to bring worsted weight washable yarn and size 5 needles just in case. Last time we gave away free yarn there was quite a response.
Plus as an incentive, Berroco has donated their new yarn, Weekend, for the kits. Be some of the first to knit with this wonderful new yarn.

Extravayarnza Pattern Contest!

Have you knit any of Rae's patterns in the past? Rae is trying to update all her patterns on Ravelry and needs some finished projects to show.
So we're hosting a contest.
To enter, knit from any of Rae's patterns. You can find a list here.
Once you've started your project post it on Ravelry with a photo. We'll be offering help getting a Ravelry account and taking photos for you in the shop.
These don't need to be new projects, if you have anything knit from Rae's patterns that you havn't posted on your Ravelry Notebook yet they qualify for the contest.
At the end of the month we'll randomly choose one new project to win a $50 gift certificate to Rae's Yarn Boutique.

I can't tell you how many requests I get each month for us to start a sock club. I finally have figured out that I should just listen to all of you and am so glad I did.
Over the last month I've been working with wonderful designers and both big and little yarn companies to get the sock club up and running!
Some of the sock yarns will be the nicest and newest offerings from our favorite yarn companies. Some will be special limited edition colors dyed exclusively for our club.
All the patterns will be exclusive to the club, plus they are designed specifically for the yarn and color of the sock yarn in that kit.
Each kit also includes a variety of bonus goodies!
Kits will be released every other month beginning this May.
We've ordered supplies and capped off membership for the May kit. There are less than 30 spots left, so sign-up soon to make sure you get the inaugural kit.
Kits can be picked up at Rae's Yarn Boutique or shipped directly to you.

of you may know that in Rae's former life she was a professional seamstress in
the theater field. Rae's been asked for years to teach sewing classes & is
finally ready to begin. Have you
ever thrown away your favorite shirt because it gets a hole, or not purchased a
great pair of pants because the legs are too long? This class is all about
liberating you to fix and customize your wardrobe. We'll be sewing 2 projects
in class (funky pincushion & eye pillow) plus covering lots of repair
situations. No sewing experience necessary!

Double knitting opens up all sorts of color work
options that would be very difficult in other knitting techniques. We'll learn
the basics of double knitting, then color in a chart to create our own custom
scarf.

Learn how to knit Lucy Neatby's
spectacular scarf. The Fishtail scarf's flared ends give a dramatic appearance
