In 1960, Danish design legend Hans J. Wegner created the CH468 lounge chair. Although it never went into production, rumor has it Wegner’s CH468 prototype was his favorite sitting chair. For fifty years, this design treasure lay dormant, a sleeping beauty.

CH 468
In 2010, Hans J. Wegner Studio, which represents and manages the late designer’s work, used a clay model, original sketches and that same 50-year-old prototype to recreate the CH468 from tip to toe.

Softer and more rotund, the chair has been called a sister to Wegner’s CH445 Wingchair. Its roomy body sits atop slender brushed stainless steel legs and comes fully-upholstered in graded-in fabric, leather or COM/COL. A matching footstool is also available.

CH 415
Also new from Hans J. Wegner Studio, the CH415 table is a rare example of Wegner’s commercial work. Once part of his “airport series,” it was designed for Copenhagen’s Kastrup Airport in 1958. The top is available in a variety of solid woods, linoleum or laminate. In wood, the top may also be lacquered in various colors. Stainless steel legs.

The Danish word for design is “formgivning”, which literally means, “giving shape”. Although one is soft and curvy and the other is industrial and sleek, the shapes of both the CH468 and CH415 come together to exemplify Wegner's unique formgivning aesthetic.
