The leaves have turned and the north wind blows cold. It’s time to get inside, gather around a beautiful dining table, and share a warm autumn meal with the ones you love. This week we feature dining tables and chairs that can be as cozy or formal as you make them. To accompany the dining collection, our great friend and master chef, Josh Capon (of Lure Fishbar and Burger & Barrel fame) offers a quick and easy, sweet and savory recipe to enjoy with your family this fall.

Vanilla Sweet Potatoes
4 Large Sweet Potatoes 8 Whole Vanilla Beans (split down the center vertically and remove the seeds) 1lb. Butter 2tsp. Vanilla Extract In a 400degree oven, roast sweet potatoes whole. Be sure to poke them with a fork before going into the oven. Soften the butter and whip it together with vanilla extract and beans. Remove the potatoes from the oven, scoop out the flesh, mix with vanilla butter and add a touch of salt. Do not over mix. Arrange all components on a plate and garnish with toasted pecans and fresh pomegranate seeds. Serves 4 to 6 people.

PK 54
When word gets out that sweet potatoes are on the menu, you may need to double the recipe! Luckily, Poul Kjaerholm’s granite top PK54 table is available with a ring of solid maple extension leaves to accommodate extra guests. Fitting together like puzzle pieces around the table’s edge, the leaves are stored in a sculptural rack when not in use. Also shown are Kjaerholm’s PK9 chairs, upholstered in rich caramel leather.

Pjur
For more casual settings, bench-style dining brings us closer. Like the sustainable forest from which it is made, Formstelle’s Pjur table has an elemental warmth that compliments a range of interior styles. Available in a variety of solid and veneer woods, we’ve seen the Pjur and Pjur bench set against upholstered banquettes, paired with modern Series 7 chairs and blended with refurbished Louis XVIs. Truly an adaptable and timeless design, Pjur is available in various sizes with optional extension leaves.

Tavolo '95
While highly unlikely, if you happen to have leftovers from your cornucorpian feast, enjoy them the next morning at the prettiest table we ever did see. Designed by the late Achille Castiglioni, Tavolo ’95 is available in square and rectangular versions. Its top is a single slab of white marble, fixed with aluminum painted metal to solid beech legs.
