SUITE New York: Tables that Rise to the Occasion

Occasional tables are called on to center a room. They can sharply contrast the sofas and chairs or they can be an unobtrusive extension of them. They should never be an after-thought. Herewith is a collection of three modern occasional tables to pull together any room.

PK 61

Poul Kjaerholm's extraordinary minimalist aesthetic makes his 1955 PK61 timeless. Its simple but asymmetrical base of brushed steel holds a square top available in light flint-rolled marble, glass or slate.

Split

Bad boy Pierro Lissoni loves to push the envelope. The Split Coffee table reminds us why he considers himself a design rock star. The sides of this low profile piece are curved, transparent extra-light glass. It is topped by tempered glass that is available in a host of lacquered or opaque satin colors. Two diameters are available.

SH650 Full house

The warmth of wood brings an element of nature to modern design. The SH650 Full House table ensures that if you want a full house, you can have one. Available in two heights, its table leg extends to create a larger surface area. The piece comes in ash or oak and finished in soap, oil or white pigmented oil. A walnut version is also available finished in oil.
