SUITE New York's Item of the Week : A Lake in Mongolia

It isn't often that we get to think of Mongolia in our daily lives at SUITE New York. Thankfully, the ecological-minded Italian company Arper draws our attention to Nuur, a collection of tables named after the largest lake in Mongolia. The lake is highly saline, sitting partly in Russia with a surface area of over 1,200 square miles.

Nuur was designed by the award-winning Simon Pengelly, known for his clean and minimal aesthetic. The tables appear to be floating without end, akin to an infinity pool. There are six top options: white, grey, black or red laminate and oak or wenge wood veneer.

The table comes in a square or a rectangle with eight size options. The four-legged base is available in polished aluminum and red or white painted aluminum. Arper's manufacturing process always takes the environment into consideration, making it the furniture company with the most international green certifications.
