A haiku is the highest form of Japanese poetry. Famed designer Jean-Marie Massaud pays homage to this art form with his Haiku screen for Glas Italia.

HAIKU
In keeping with his philosophy of reduction and lightness, Massaud decorates the smoked-glass screen with images of nature using a special glass engraving technique. The pattern spans four panels, although the screen can be purchased with any number of them, a minimum of three for stability. Black chromium-plated hinges link the panels, one side of which is reflective.

Massaud, who has already won two major awards in 2009, has lately focused on man's ability to control his environment and behavior. With the Haiku screen, he reminds us of the value of stillness and the natural world.
