Go Green School of the Week:
Groton Central School Groton, NY
Week of September 30, 2008 |
Something's Rotten
And that's exactly how the students and staff at Groton Central School want it. The Rot-in-Groton food scrap composting program is just the tip of the rotting iceberg lettuce at this forward-thinking Go Green school. Students also recycle T-shirts and stuff from home that they no longer want.
Sincerely,

Our School of the Week feature has a new home!
We've made some changes that you're bound to like. The School of the Week feature story will be in the exact same spot all the time. The current week's featured school will stay on our Web site for the entire week the school is being honored.
When the next week's school is posted, the previous week's feature story will drop to the bottom of the page to the archives section. You can click on the school of your choice to read about that school.

Nominate Your School
We are always on the lookout for creative and innovative Go Green school programs to feature at the Go Green Initiative. We have thousands of schools on our roster, so think hard about what your school is doing that sets you apart from the crowd.
Drop us a note at newsletter@gogreeninitiative.org to tell us why you think your school deserves to be a School of the Week. Be sure to include lots of details about why your program stands out. Don't forget your contact information, both e-mail and phone.
We'll also need photos that tell the story of your Go Green program. We're looking for action shots. Please steer clear of posed shots with kids grinning into the camera. We want pictures with action, spontaneity, excitement and fun. Please keep your photos to 2 MB or smaller.
If your school is chosen, we'll be in touch to gather more info so that we can let the world know how creatively your school has gone green!
