Go Green School of the Week:
Pleasanton Middle School
Pleasanton, CA

June 8- 14 2008

pms3Pleasanton Middle School is this week's Go Green School of the Week.

The Panthers  are crazy about foodscrapping. They began in January with a lunchtime food scrapping effort that is truly amazing!  In ten different stations set up around the lunch area, the students separate their food and paper waste into large green cans, recycle their cans and bottles into special receptacles, and throw the small amount of remaining trash into traditional garbage cans. But wait, there's more...

Treehugger.com features our school of the week on their website. Owned by The Discovery Channel, their website gets 4.7 million page views a month. Read what Treehugger says about Pleasanton MS.

I am looking for year round or international schools to recognize throughout the summer. If you would like your school to be considered for the "School of the Week", please email Amy Snyder at newsletter@gogreeninitiative.org. Tell us what your school has been doing to Go Green and send along a few pictures of your students "in action." Pictures cannot be larger than 2 MB.

Keep up the good work PMS!

Sincerely,

Jill Buck
