Go Green Initiative's School of the Week:
Garrison Union Free School

Rachel Recyle inspires Garrison Union Free School, our Go Green School of the Week to Reduce, Reuse and Recycle. She is made out of objects saved from the landfill and was created by the Ecokids.
The EcoKids Club has been doing great things to encourage their campus to be environmentally friendly.
Here's just a peek.
Like the Little Red Hen, the Ecokids planted organic baby lettuce. They planted and watered the seeds. Then harvested and washed the greens. They garnished them with Johnny Jump-up violas they had grown. Then they shared them with the entire school.
The EcoKids have also started a Just One Thing Family Initiative. They encourage each family to change "one thing" to help the environment. Click here to read more.
Treehugger.com features our school of the week on their website. Owned by The Discovery Channel, their website gets 4.7 million page views a month. Read the Treehugger article about Garrison Free Union.
If you would like your school to be considered for the "School of the Week", please email Amy Snyder at newsletter@gogreeninitiative.org. Tell us what your school has been doing to Go Green and send along a few pictures of your students "in action." Pictures cannot be larger than 2 MB.
Garrison Union Free you make us proud!
Sincerely,
