Go Green Initiative
March, 2008
Hello New York schools,

We are so very pleased to announce that our new online forum is ready!!!  This forum will allow you the opportunity to "talk" to one another, share ideas, what works, what doesn't and most importantly, ask us questions and receive assistance.  This is such a great way to talk to other schools in your same state.  It is also an easy way to tell us what you need from us.  Our main job is to support you so let us know how we can do that best!

You will receive an invitation to join the forum in the next week.  All you need to do is follow the instructions on the invitation e-mail and you will have access to the forum.  You are the first state to help us roll out this new program so please tell us  what is working for you and what isn't.  There are forum sub-groups set up by state, by city (if you have more than 7 registered Go Green Schools in your city) and by grade level (elementary, middle, high).  Once you've joined the New York State sub-group, please join other sub-groups you are interested in.  We already have some discussion items set-up but please add whatever discussions or questions you would like answered.  The more information we can get on the site the more it will help everyone.
And now a note from your local GGI coordinator, NYSAR3 (the NYState Association for Reduction, Reuse and Recycling):

Many of you have already received the benefit of NYSAR3's generosity through its grant programs (www.nysar3.org).  We're very excited about our local NYS GGI forum because it should help our schools to expand their environmental programs by providing networking opportunities among peers.  We encourage you to utilize this forum to ask questions, offer suggestions, solicit help with your worm bins, etc.  Through our own knowledge and interaction with environmental folks throughout the United States and even the world, NYSAR3 representatives will be monitoring the forum to assure you that your problems are addressed quickly and correctly.  Stay tuned for more great ideas!
Thank you for continuing to support your school's Go Green efforts.  You are helping the futures of all our children!

Sincerely,
