This week's School of the Week is our very first homeschool. The Woodman family in Atlanta, GA has taken top honors.

They have incorporated every aspect of the Go Green Initiative into their homeschool science lessons.  Mrs. Woodman tells us, "I love letting the children make these changes themselves verses watching it on a video or reading it in a story.  They are becoming the story. "

Here are a few "green" things they are doing:
  • created a compost bin from an old trashcan
  • made a rainwater collector from an old plastic container fleece jackets
  • recycle plastic and aluminum from the homeschool group lunches
  • take their own bags when they shop or do not use a bag

The Woodmans will be using their compost and their collected rainwater in their first spring garden. Those will be some lucky vegetables.

Way to go, Woodman family. You are an inspiration!!
