State Sweepstakes Awarded to PTHS Math Science Team

 

 

Award
1st in State!

The State meet for the Texas Math and Science Coaches Association (TMSCA) was held on Saturday, March 19 at UTSA in San Antonio, Texas.  Pine Tree won the 4A High School Sweepstakes award with 3008 points. Veterans High School from Mission was second with 2654 points. The Pine Tree team won 1st place team in Number Sense and Mathematics, 2nd place in Calculator, and 5th in science.  The individual winners are listed HERE.

 

 

PTHS DECA Soar at State in Career Development

 

DECA awardThe following Pine Tree High School students were winners at   the State DECA Career Development Conference in Ft. Worth recently. DECA is a student organization that prepares emerging leaders and entrepreneurs in marketing, finance, hospitality and management in high schools and colleges around the globe.  >>Read more.

 

 

 State Awards Earned by PTHS at SkillsUSA

 

Congratulations are in order to all of the Pine Tree High School students who recently competed in the Welding and Automotive category of SkillsUSA.   Six students under the direction of Mark Thomas earned state awards including a Best of Show trophy for a Welding Category competition.  >>Read more.

PTHS One Act Play Advances!

 

The Pine Tree One Act Public performance will be held on April 12th at 7 p.m. in the PT High School Theater. Tickets are $5. Of course, if you have a season pass admission is included. Encourage your friends and family to attend.

 PT Earns Leadership Award for Financial Transparencyaward-business

 

Pine Tree ISD has joined the Texas Comptroller Leadership Circle Award winners for their success in implementing financial transparency.  Pine Tree ISD has earned a Gold Leadership Circle Award for setting the bar for financial transparency and opening the financial books to the public.

The State of Texas collects a substantial amount of data each year regarding how school districts spend tax dollars. Each year, all school districts must account for all expenditures. 

 

The 2008-09 data indicate that public education remains a labor intensive operation: salaries and benefits accounted for 80 percent of basic educational costs. Contracted services represented an additional 9 percent, supplies and materials were 9 percent, and other operating costs represented 2 percent. View Feb. 2011 report,

PTISD Calls Bond Election, May 14, 2011

The bond referendum totals $29,995,000.00 and is structured into one proposition.  If approved by voters, the bond election will pay to accomplish improvements in four areas:   

  • Technology,  
  • Career/Co-curricular Facilities,  
  • Athletics Facilities including an Athletic Complex at PT Parkway/Loop 281, and  
  • Infrastructure renovation.
