PTISD Student Holidays:  Nov. 22-29
 

Pine Tree ISD schools, district and tax offices will be closed Monday, November 22, 2010 through Friday, November 26, 2010 for the Thanksgiving holiday break.  Classes will resume on Monday, November 29, 2010 at the normal times.  We hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable week as we pause to give thanks for our many blessings.

 

Students Honor Veterans in the Community

Veterans were the guest of honor at two events for a grand celebration at Pine Tree ISD this month which included flags, music and recognition of veterans from each branch of service.   READ MORE / VIEW MORE PHOTOS.

Reflections Art Project Open to PK - 6th Grade

PTA Promotes Art Contest for PK-6th Grade Students

The Pine Tree PreK-6 PTA Invites students to submit creative art for participation with other students in the state of Texas and possibly in the nation.


Students are invited to participate in a National Program to recognize your artistic talent! The program is called Reflections and is open to students in Pine Tree ISD in grades Pk-6 . Your artwork will be displayed and you will be recognized at a PTA meeting in the spring.

Storybook Characters Parade the Halls

Storybook ParadeThe Cat in the Hat, Pirates, Princesses and many other literary characters strolled around the campus at Pine Tree Elementary School on Friday, Nov. 12th for the annual Storybook Parade.

Parents lined the walls of the cafeteria taking pictures and videos as their children paraded around campus holding their book and dressed in character. READ MORE

Essay Contest Winners Announced

Red Ribbon Week Essay Contest 2010 Winners and Awards Luncheon

Red RibbonThe City of Longview Partners in Prevention announced the winners of the 13th annual Red Ribbon Week 4th Grade Essay Contest.  During Red Ribbon Week, over 1,400 essays were written by students from area school districts using 50 words or less to finish the statement, "I am drug free because...". LeTourneau University students, under the direction of Dr. Kathy Stephens, judged the essays.  Read more.

The Pine Tree Independent School district is currently accepting applications from interested individuals who would like to serve on the district's Bond Development Committee.

The Bond Development Committee will be finalized by the PTISD Board of Trustees on Tuesday, November 30th.   Read more about the Bond Development committee

Dress Code Forum & Survey Coming 

SAVE THE DATE:  Dress Code Information Forum 
  • Monday, December 6, 6:30 - 8:00 pm PT Road Auditorium (next to the Pirate Stadium)
and/or
  • Wednesday, December 8, 11:30-1:00 pm PT Admin Building  (near the Stadium)
  • This public information forum will provide time to discuss the current school dress code for Pine Tree ISD.  The session will include time for questions and answers session will be conducted and a survey for parent, student and faculty feedback will be distributed.  For more information, contact James Skeeler, 903-295-5000.
