Tax Ratification Election: November 4th
WHY is the district asking for a Tax Ratification Election?
PTISD is asking the voters to consider what can be called a tax "swap". The swap will increase the M&O rate by .13 and reduce the I&S rate by .13. If the election passes the tax rate will be set at $1.3485. If the election fails, the tax rate will be set at $1.3485, which is no change for the 2008-2009 school year.  An additional $540,000 in state revenue could be generated from this election.
