National & State Recognition
Community Problem Solvers: Middle 5/6
Texas Future Problem Solving Program has awarded fifth and sixth grade accelerated students in Carthage and Pine Tree Middle School with the Grand Champion Award for the state of Texas! These Community Problem Solvers set out to encourage community awareness of the need for prosthetic devices in developing nations. Imagine...2 grades, working in 2 schools, in 2 cities, to give others the power to walk with 2 legs! That is what their project, "Walk to the Power of 2" is all about. As Grand Champions for the state of Texas, they are entitled to a weekend in Austin, and will also attend the International Conference for Problem Solving in Ft. Collins, Colorado.
Twirler's Competition: JH and HS
Seven Pine Tree High School Majorettes competed in the "MADance" Marching Auxiliary National Dance Competition in San Antonio, Texas on Saturday, March 24, 2007. They won first place awards in Dance, Twirl, and Team Twirl events.

TOP Academic Awards!
Pine Tree 6th, 7th and 8th grade Academic Teams recently garnered numerous awards during their Pine Tree Junior High meet. Pine Tree took home four big #1 trophies again this year for first place in overall scores for 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. >More
Saturday, March 31st was a big day for the High School Academic UIL teams who competed in District Academic Contest at Hallsville. All 1st - 3rd place individuals and 1st place teams automatically advance to the Regional Meet in Denton, Texas on Friday, April 13th. >More
Pine Tree High School Math Science Team met with almost 100 schools from across the state to compete on March 17th in San Antonio. The PTHS Team won the 4A Sweepstakes Award at the competition. In team events Pine Tree won 1st place in Calculator, 2nd place in Mathematics and Number Sense. >More
Pine Tree Jr. High won the overall 2nd place sweepstakes award at the state TMSCA - Math Science meet. There were approximately 1800 students competing at the meet with approximately 40 schools competing for the sweepstakes award. The team also won team trophies for all four events. >More |
