So, I am now the official Wine Director for
the Ivy Hotel's newest wine lounge, in
downtown San Diego. I will be starting there

Our trip around Italy has been amazing... to
say the least! We're 2/3 complete with our
tour, and if you ask me, we've saved the best
for last...This month Lindsay of the Wine
Smarties will take us through the Northern
Region of Italy where some of the best wines
of world are produced. Piedmont, Lombardy,
Veneto are the major regions for a wine and
food enthusiast. Literally over 100 grape
varietals are grown here (another
understatement) the most famous being grapes
grown to make wines such as Amarone,
Barbaresco, Barolo, and Asti. Paired with
the big meats, game and rich sauces the
gastronomic offerings here are BIG and

I have teamed up with the place where the
concept of my company was born: at Wine
Steals! I was assistant manager there back
when they first opened, and it lead me to my
current dream/path at The Wine Smarties. So,
it will be a lot of fun for me to host the
series where it all started...
I am putting together a class for my WSET
graduates as well as anyone looking to get
into the industry (part-time, full-time,
etc). So, I will be inviting people from
different aspects of the industry to share
their stories and paint a picture of what
they do so you can make an informed decision
about which direction in the industry you see
yourself.
