Who in the Wine World is Certified WSET?
1. The ultimate authority on wine, and
writer of "The Oxford Companion to Wine"
Jancis Robinson got her start with the WSET.
She says: "What I did rather immediately
after starting was to sign up for the Wine
and Spirits Educational Trust. It has a very
structured set of courses that eventually
lead to the Master of Wine. I started with
the certificate and I worked my way up
through those courses. I did it quite
quickly."-vinography.com
2. Peter Neptune, Master Sommelier "My WSET
studies were invaluable in helping my
education towards becoming a Master
Sommelier. I have been teaching WSET classes
to the public and the wine industry for over
7 years and have successfully graduated over
300 students at the Intermediate and Advanced
Levels."
3. And locally, yours truly is certified :-)
As well as Tasha Kuxton, GM of Wine Steals
Point Loma. It is through the WSET that she

Tasting Wealth: Taste-Talk-Learn-Indulge
Class #4: Southern Italy!
San Diego's Economic Stimulus Wine Event
Series: Taste-Talk-Learn-Indulge
Wednesday, October 7th, 6-8pm, Villa Capri 2,
7875 Highland Village Place, San Diego, CA
92129
Join the Wine Smarties at Villa Capri 2's
charming Italian trattoria for our fourth
'Tasting Wealth'
wine event series designed to get you talking
about wine and wealth. Tasting Wealth is
designed to
bring together fellow enthusiasts of the good
grape. We will be educated through a series
of wine
tastings and encouraged to taste, talk, learn
and indulge ourselves of a variety of wines.
Learn
what you're drinking, how to buy it, what to
look for, how to talk about it and most
importantly how
to impress others with your newly received
wine smarts!
Southern Italy. This is home to the Amalfi
Coast, the isle of Capri, Mt. Vesuvius, and
of pizza. The
rich soil and temperate climate here are
ideal for growing all kinds of fruits and
vegetables. Grapes
are no exception, and Campania is Southern
Italy's most prominent wine producing region.
Just
like last month, we'll pair our 4 wines with
4 Italian tapas that represent the region.
Not only is this a
great way to "experience" the region, but
it's also an excellent way to learn about
your palate and
why pairing is so important when it comes to
wine.
Details: Event costs $30 and includes 4
wines, education, 4 paired tapas.
Details: Event costs $30 and includes 4
wines, education, 4 appetizers paired with
the wines. It is a great deal! Our september
series ended up being more of a dinner than a
tapas pairing!
