Mid-Summer's Eve Celebration

Saturday, July 18th at RBR
 We all celebrate the beginning of each new year and make resolutions to start off fresh. Great...but what about the middle of the year? Come to Rock Bottom Ranch on Saturday, July 18th to celebrate Mid-summer's Eve and rejuvenate your spirits! The cost is $20 per family and $8 for individuals.
SCHEDULE OF EVENTS:
3-5 pm - Fire Making, Mask Making, and Makin' Seed Ballz!
5-6 pm - Primitive Bow & Arrow Shoot
6-6:30pm - Salad picking at RBR garden and tour of the farm
6:30-8pm - Potluck Feast: RBR will provide roasted chicken, garden salad, and lemonade. Please bring side dishes of GRAINS, POTATOES, VEGETABLES, and/or DESSERT.
8pm - Evening - Drumming,
dancing, and stories around the fire.

Programs of the Month
Visit our resident artists and scholars as they live at Toklat and contemplate, work, and share their passions. Maria Hodkins, a cooking and journaling instructor and itinerant chef will reside at Toklat from July 11-24. Dr. Cherilynn Morrow, astronomer and musician will be at Toklat from July 25-August 7. Elena Gonzales, indigenous weaver from Oaxaca, Mexico will live at Toklat from June-September. Elena's beautiful hand-woven rugs and other artwork will be on display and for sale throughout her stay at Toklat.
Food For Thought: A Extraordinary Eco-Cooking Class
Class #1: Season's Harvest  Friday, July 17 - 10am - 2pm (lunch) This
class will focus on creating a meal from fresh, regional ingredients
that are harvested at that particular time of the growing season,
reflecting not only the places that supplied the ingredients, but a
unique moment in time.
Class #2: Southwest Treasures Wednesday, July 22 - 4pm - 8pm (dinner) Using
the Big Three (beans, corn, squash) staples of southwest indigenous
cultures, this class will create a delicious contemporary meal, tracing
the historical cuisines of the Ute and Pueblo cultures.
