Shape Up RI News

January 30, 2008

Dear Friends,   Rajiv Kumar

I invite you to join us for the 3rd Annual Shape Up RI Opening Celebration on Saturday, February 2, 11am at Providence Place Showcase Cinemas.

Governor Donald Carcieri, First Lady Suzanne Carcieri, News Anchor Karen Adams, Department of Health Director Dr. David Gifford, Rep. Gordon Fox, Dr. David Katz from ABC News/Yale Medical School, and my parents will all be there to help us kick off an exciting Shape Up RI 2008 campaign!

There are now over 11,000 of us participating in this healthy lifestyle competition. I am looking forward to meeting many of you on Saturday. It promises to be a fun family event--with a few special surprises in store. You will love our first place door prize.

This will be a great opportunity to gather with your team, meet other teams from across the state, and build the motivation that will carry us through this twelve-week journey and beyond.

We urge you to bring all of your team members and your family to come and celebrate with us. Parking is plentiful at Providence Place, and the event is free and open to the public.

I can't wait to see you on Saturday!

Yours in Health,

Rajiv Kumar
Chairman
