What Cause Will you Help Conquer?

You may be thinking when you heard this, "A cause? I didn't sign up to save the world!"  Don't worry; if God is not calling you to a certain cause right now, it is OK.  Chances are that he is so I want you to be open-minded.  Even if you are not feeling it at this moment, at some point in your life God will stir your heart and direct you to the cause he has personally chosen for you to take on.

You don't have to be a fanatical activist to become motivated by causes such as: alcoholism, drug abuse, domestic violence, poverty, hunger, homelessness, sanctity of human life, environmental issues, educational issues, aging, or HIV/AIDS. In John 17, Jesus describes his followers as "in the world" but "not of the world." This means that we are to confront worldly problems with Godly solutions.

Now, ask yourself the following questions.
  1. What cause or issue makes my heart race?
  2. Where could I make the greatest impact for God?
  3. If time were not an issue, to what cause would I devote myself?
Are you starting to see all of this come together?  I hope so, and I hope that you are beginning to get excited about all that you are learning about yourself. If you haven't already, follow this link to answer the Discovering Your Heart's Passion questionnaire.

Today's Prayer:

Dear God, you have placed me in a world filled with problems and issues. I know that you are the answer to all of these concerns. Please show me how you want to use my life to confront some of the challenges of my world.
