What Drives You?

I know your first thought probably was just life in general.  We move from one thing to the next without even looking at the people and situations we are passing each day.  So let's really stop and think about this.  What drives you?  Do you even know?

To uncover the driving forces in your life, ask yourself the following questions...
  1. What motivates me to take action? What issue makes me angry?
  2. What is one thing that inspires me to get off the couch and do something? What is one thing that I would literally drop everything to do?
  3. What activity do I really miss when I am not able to be involved in it?
  4. What goals, visions, desires, plans, or dreams do I have--even if they are out of reach?
  5. What do I really want to do for God? If I had unlimited time and resources, what would I do?
Before you can really discover your heart's passion, you have to do an honest self-evaluation to make sure you are looking in the right areas.  Many people who have taken the SHAPE class assume that their heart's passion lies in an issue related to their career; they are surprised to discover that their passion for serving God is in a totally different area.  You may actually find out that you are passionate about something this week that you have never even tried before.

Today's Prayer:

Dear God, I want to be driven by the passions that You have placed in my heart. Please  help me understand the things that motivate me and how I can use these passions to stay energized for serving You. Remind me that not everyone is passionate about the things that I am, but that together we can be useful in accomplishing the things that You are passionate about.
