  • The Method of Shared Concern

We're very proud to bring you news of a new DVD that we believe will help many children all over the world. "The Method of Shared Concern" is a staff training resource for dealing with bullying in schools. It comes to us via Dr. Ken Rigby, the widely-respected international author who is also a Creative Consultant for Kid-Safe Productions.

"The Method" is an internationally-recognized approach originated by Swedish psychologist Dr. Anatol Pikas. The 50- minute DVD provides a step-by-step group training session, narrated and interpreted by Dr. Rigby, along with an accompaying User's Guide.

Here at Kid-Safe, we especially like the case studies in the program. High school students collaborated in the production of the film, making it even more true-to-life and relevant.

    What Would You Do?

In the years I've been visiting Ontario schools, I've been impressed to hear many positive stories from you about effective responses to bullying. Right now, there's an important opportunity to tell us what you would do and why.

Dr. Rigby is working with Arizona educator Sheri Bauman, to create an international database of teachers' and counsellors' responses to bullying situations.

We need your opinion! By completing a short survey (which takes about 5 - 10 minutes) we can work together to make the best bullying prevention techniques available to educators around the world.

    Who Are We?

A proud and active member of the City of Toronto's Bullying Awareness and Prevention Coalition, Kid-Safe Productions helps children in elementary schools learn social skills through highly entertaining and interactive plays and workshops held in schools.

We believe it's important to reinforce social skills development as kids begin to develop more mature relationships with other children and adults.
